Biodynamic Osteopathy

What is Biodynamic Osteopathy?

It is a perceptive and sensitive treatment approach that tries to get closer to the patient’s INTEGRAL HEALTH. It considers the organism as a totality with the capacity to self-regulate and interact with the ENVIRONMENT. It assumes the recognition of the existence of FORMATIVE FORCES OF LIFE (embryological forces).

These inherent forces that drive our development continue to affect us throughout our lives. Biodynamics focuses on observing the effects of these forces from within the individual. These forces will help us to diagnose and treat the patient.

What are its scientific bases?

Biodynamics developed from Cranial Osteopathy, thanks to the American osteopath, W.G. Sutherland. Its foundations are based on the existence of a series of rhythmic and subtle impulses, which have their origin in the central nervous system called PRIMARY RESPIRATION. Sutherland called this Respiration or Energy of life POWER. The Power or Breath of life, are the effects of the Primary Respiration that expresses itself through the fluid, at different levels of depth and according to its needs.

How does the biodynamic osteopath work?

The biodynamic osteopath focuses on observing and reorienting the formative forces of life. The treatment is performed from a state of integral and deep presence, both by the osteopath and the patient. Through the subtle and soft touch of his hands, the therapist perceives in which points of the patient’s body the flow of the Primary Respiration is stagnant.

The expression of this Primary Respiration in the body can have different densities and rhythms. When the rhythm of this respiration becomes slower and softer, one accesses a deeper level of the organism and comes into contact with the so-called FLUID BODY. It is a fuller dimension of the human body that goes beyond the physical, solid and structured body.

As therapists, our work includes perceiving and resonating with our patient’s LIFE POWER, supporting and stimulating it to express itself more fully and open a path of self-regulation and health.

What is the result of the full treatment?

Thanks to this treatment approach, we will achieve a rebalancing and re-information of the different body systems (autonomic nervous system, immune, endocrine, vascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal). This generates a change in the anatomical structures and an optimal physiological response in our organism. A response of well-being and serenity is induced in the human body. And the patient has a feeling of lightness, a sense of relaxation in the body, his breathing is deeper and his energy level increases.

How a biodynamic session is carried out.

A calm space is created for the good development of the session..

01

The patient lies on the stretcher without having to take off his or her clothes.
02
Before starting, the therapist prepares your nervous system, calming and working on a state of presence and neutrality.

03

It tunes into your autonomic nervous system and synchronizes with the patient’s through gentle and subtle palpation of the head, feet, sacrum or spine.

04

Depending on the perception of the hands we will feel those areas of need.

05

We will orient to the Primary Respiration and let the body follow its Inherent Treatment Plan, respecting its rhythm and depth.

06

Observe and listen to the body so that it can express itself and change.
